FAQs

Most individuals can begin the process right after completing the quiz and scheduling an estate planning session.

Individuals and families seeking straightforward estate planning preparation and educational guidance for common goals — wills, trusts, probate avoidance, incapacity planning, and beneficiary coordination.

Most plans are built around four core tools: a will, a trust (when appropriate), a power of attorney for finances, and a healthcare directive. Your plan may include more than these, and the specific documents depend on the plan type you choose. A will or trust addresses what happens to assets; powers of attorney and healthcare directives address decisions during your lifetime if you can’t make them yourself. The real value comes from how these pieces are coordinated — along with account titling and beneficiary designations.

Not everyone does. A will-based plan may be enough if your situation is relatively simple and you’re comfortable with assets distributed outright. A trust is often considered when you want more control over how and when assets are distributed, have minor children, own property in multiple states, or value privacy and administrative efficiency.
